Jeep Uconnect Apple Carplay Upgrade. My 2018 sport has the 5” unconnect without car play, but i thought i read an article a while ago about the new version of the low end uconnect coming with car play. When you upgrade to a more advanced infotainment system, you open up more options—including important features that improve safety.
I have done this upgrade on my 14 jgced overland. It’s simple to learn to utilize apple carplay, and it comes as second nature to anybody who is acquainted with apple products. I am buying my first jeep and still not sure between a 17 jk and a jl.
My question is do you think we will have the option to upgrade to it?
I have a 2018 jeep compass with just the base 5 screen, and wish i had the optional 7 screen with apple carplay. Is it possible to have the dealer upgrade to the 7 screen with carplay, or would i need to get an aftermarket unit? I understand that this feature is on the latest uconnect version, 8.4. So now that the 2018 jeep renegades have been announced with car play on uconnect.
