During my experience in the IT industry I have often noticed the ambiguity that lies between the two terms that are Bug Severity vs Bug Priority. The state given as Not a bugEnhancement if there is no change in the functionality of the application. A Bug is the synonym of defect or an error or a glitch.
It is a programmers fault where a programmer intended to implement a certain behavior but the code fails to correctly conform to this behavior because of incorrect implementation in coding.
Later on the bug goes through various stages like Fixed Verified Reopen Wont Fix etc. A Quality Assurance engineer usually determines the severity level of a bugdefect. It may be regarded as a type of issue tracking system. If the bug persists even after the developer has fixed the bug the tester changes the status to reopened.
